The Cardtel was built on a simple idea: community.

When I was a kid, we would all get together, hop on our bikes, ride to the corner store, pool our money, and buy as many packs as we could. Then we would draw straws for draft order, rip the packs open, and take turns picking the cards we wanted.

Sometimes we won. Sometimes we lost. But we never forgot it.

I still remember that feeling like it happened yesterday. The excitement. The suspense. The laughs. The heartbreak of missing the card you wanted. The pure joy of pulling something special. That feeling was infectious, and it is as close to pure hobby magic as I can remember.

Somewhere between then and now, the hobby changed.
